Grout selection matters in the IE. We default to epoxy grout in wet areas — it does not absorb moisture, resists mildew, and never needs sealing.
We do not subcontract waterproofing. Every shower pan gets a Schluter DITRA or Laticrete Hydro Ban membrane applied by our crew. We flood-test every pan for 24 hours before setting a single tile.
Murrieta homes with upstairs bathrooms need extra attention to subfloor integrity. We check for deflection, sister joists if needed, and install 1/2-inch cement board over 3/4-inch plywood minimum. Anything less flexes under foot traffic and cracks grout lines within two years.
